| About DIT |
Faced with growing international competition and massive manufacturing transplantation to China, traditional Taiwanese manufacturers still keeping their roots in Taiwan will have to focus on innovation and design, departing their reliance on OEM (original equipment manufacturer) and ODM (original design manufacturer) business in the past, in order to augment added values of their products and sustain their further development.
In line with the trend, the China Economic News Service (CENS) has forged the platform for exchanges of innovations by traditional industries, dubbed DIT (Design & Innovation in Taiwan), which comprises various integrated plans, including international exhibition channel, trade-journal channel, online channel, and seminars and symposiums, helping Taiwanese firms to access relevant global information and offer their innovations and designs to the world, thereby boosting their export value and lengthening their corporate life, so as to accelerate transformation of Taiwan’s traditional industries and strengthen Taiwanese competitiveness. |

| DIT Vision |
The journal will be published in English as a quarterly, which, in addition to reports on development of Taiwanese and international innovations and designs, will also cover Taiwanese traditional industry’s innovative products. Copies of the publication will be distributed in over 160 international professional fairs worldwide, creating opportunities for direct contacts between Taiwanese suppliers of innovative products and foreign buyers, thereby augmenting the quality image of products designed and made in Taiwan.
The DIT platform will run information on domestic and foreign innovative products, in both English and Chinese, as well as trends in the four major international design exhibitions, IF, RedDot, G-Mark, and IDEA, as references for domestic firms. The platform will also serve as a bridge between domestic design firms and manufacturers, so as to lead to the creation of more innovative products.
Taking advantage of its export-trade journal channel boasting over three decades of history, the CENS will help Taiwan exporters expose their innovative products to the world market within the shortest time, so as to solicit patronage from foreign buyers and enhance the quality image of Taiwanese products.
We will also distribute e-paper to member firms and buyers, offering them valuable information on our own initiative, thereby helping Taiwanese firms accelerate their transformation.
In addition, we will sponsor forum on product innovation and design, inviting successful entrepreneurs and experts to advise domestic firms on how to succeed in developing innovative products, so as to speed up industrial upgrading. |

Product innovation and design, establishment of own brands, and international marketing can help Taiwanese manufacturers in traditional lines break through the bottleneck of price competition, thereby stepping up the nation’s industrial transformation and boosting its international competitiveness.

Installation of integrated design service platform for the Taiwanese manufacturing industry will integrate the critical tasks of cementing domestic and foreign industrial cooperation, augmenting product design capability, enlivening international trade, and intensifying international marketing. In combination with the international industrial resources of the CENS, it will march towards the goal of becoming a global channel platform for the Taiwanese manufacturing sector. |
